From the 11/03/2021 – 15/03/2021 Tim Leakey (Chairman) was a International Line Judge for the All England Super Series.
It was a very interesting experience as although it was televised across the world and on Badminton England TV, there were no spectators allowed so the arena and concourse were totally empty!
The officials had to be isolated in a hotel until a number of Covid-19 tests had been completed and couldn’t leave their hotel room for two days – dedication to Badminton.
Masks had to be worn at all times in the venue and even on the way from the hotel and the officials weren’t allowed to deviate from their route at all due to being isolated.
All in all a very different experience this year but all in aid of keeping high level badminton going strong.
