We’re a friendly, vibrant club welcoming players from improvers to league and county players.
All club nights will involve a mixture of men’s, lady’s and mixed doubles badminton games, organised and directed by committee members running the session.
We believe the best way for everyone’s game to develop together is by playing a mixture of games with different ability players, and expect all players to mix in respectfully and inclusively in accordance with the clubs player code of conduct.
Hastings YMCA Badminton Club is a Badminton England (BE) registered and affiliated Premier club. It is also affiliated to Sussex County Badminton Association. The club has been in existence for over 40 year’s founded at the Hastings YMCA.
The club currently operates from Freedom Leisure Bexhill Sports Centre and The Y-Centre in Hastings.
The club welcomes both adults and experienced junior players at the club nights which are held Friday’s throughout the year from 20:00 to 22:00. (See Calendar) If you would like to come along and play or would like any further information then please contact the club via our contact page. All sessions need to be pre-booked as spaces are limited.
We are also running a PAY TO PLAY session on Monday Evening at the same venue, The Y-Centre from 20:30 to 22:00. All sessions need to be booked due to Covid-19 as spaces are limited. Each session costs £5:00 to non-club members which includes feather shuttles. Rackets can usually be loaned for free if required but this service is unfortunately currently suspended due to the Covid-19 situation.
Due to the new League Season starting sessions on Friday’s will soon be more limited in numbers. To counter this a new Session was started on Tuesdays from 8:30pm to 10pm Sessions will be £5 for Non-Members and £4 for Members, This is now hosted at Bexhill Sports Centre. Please remember to book in advance!
Informal coaching tips can be given by one of the club’s six coaches if requested.
The venue has toilets, changing rooms and drinking water available and free parking. Please check before arriving in regards to the changing room situation due to the current Covid-19 situation.
