Welcome to the Hastings YMCA Badminton Club We’re a friendly, vibrant club welcoming players from improvers to league and county players. All club nights will involve a mixture of men’s, ladies’ and mixed doubles badminton games, organised and directed by committee members running the session. We believe the best way for everyone’s game to develop together is by playing a mixture of games with different ability players, and expect all players to mix in respectfully and inclusively in accordance with the clubs player code of conduct. Hastings YMCA Badminton Club is a Badminton England (BE) registered and affilicated club. It is  also affiliated to Sussex County Badminton Association.  The club has been in existance for over 30 year’s founded at the Hastings YMCA. The club  currently operates from Freedom Leisure Helenswood Sports Centre (Opposite the Conquest Hospital) in Hastings but is no longer affiliated to the YMCA. The club welcomes both adults and experienced junior players club nights which are held Friday’s throughout the year from 20:00 to 22:00. (See Calendar)  If you would like to come along and play or would  like any further information then please contact the club via our contact page. The Friday session needs to be pre-booked We are also running a PAY TO PLAY  session on a Monday Evening at the same venue, Freedom Leisure Helenswood Sports Centre (Opposite the Conquest Hospital) from 20:30 to 22:00. No need to book these sessions however places are limited at a cost of £5:00 to non-club members which includes feather shuttles. Rackets can be loaned for free if required. Informal coaching tips can be given by one of the clubs three coaches if requested. The venue has toilets, changing rooms, showers and drinking water available as well as a small coffee shop and free parking.

Leakeys Officiate at All England .

Tim and Samantha Leakey (Club Chairman/Match Secretary &Club Secretary) officiated at the All England 2018 and Tim at the All England 2019 ( now in its 109th year and the oldest Badminton Championships in the World) held in the Birmingham Arena with top players from around the world. Tim also officiated at the English National Badminton Championships which this year was held in Winchester.
